I'm running a small network of three Macs and three PC's, not all of which are on at the same time, and I'm constantly swapping boxes in and out.
To solve the problem of being sure which IP address each PC had, I wrote this tiny program which you run on a PC and it will tell you its IP address.
Using the browser approach only tells you your WAN IP code, which is not the one issued by your ADSL router to each of its DHCP clients.
